COVID-19 Tournament Guidance

 

We will be following all  all state and local health protocols including the Wyoming Soccer Associations Return to Play Guidelines and the Wyoming Department of Health Guidelines 

Fremont Toyota Shootout Overview

The Fremont Toyota Shootout will occur October 3rd and 4th throughout Lander at the following locations:  Lander Valley High School (LVHS), Lander Middle School (LMS), North Park, Popo Agie Park, and the Lander City Park. There will be a total of 16 fields where games will be played.

3 8U fields 40’x80’                  Rosters of 10 to 18 –players & coaches & 1 referee-LVHS

4 10U fields 120’ x 180’          Rosters of 22 to 30 – players and coaches & 1-3 referees-Popo Agie Park and City Park

4 12U fields 160’ x210’           Rosters of 28 to 36 players and coaches & 1-3 referees-LVHS and North Park

5 14U-Up fields 330’ x 195’     Rosters of 32 to 40 players and coaches & 3 referees-LVHS, and LMS

Hosting the tournament at the above locations throughout Lander will allow conformance with the Wyoming Department of Health Guidance for Sports stating:  events be held with no more than 50% of venue capacity, with a maximum of 1,000 people, so long as household groups can maintain a distance of six feet from other household groups.   Parking is available at all locations and some of the fields will allow for spectators to view the game from their vehicle or tailgate to aid in social distancing.  Each field will be marked with a team technical area, and the spectator area will be across the field from your team.  Social distancing signs will be posted at every field, facility, and posted throughout the different locations.  The length of the games will vary based on the age of the teams. The games will finish at different times allowing teams and spectators to leave at different times.

8U – 2 20-minute halves with 5-minute half time

10U – 2 25-minute halves with a 10-minute half time

12U – 2 30-minute halves with a 10-minute half time

14U – 2 35-minute halves with a 10-minute half time

16U – 2 40-minute halves with a 10-minute half time

19U – 2 45-minute halves with a 10-minute half time

The different field locations will include both standard restrooms (North Park and City Park) as well as portable units (LVHS, LMS and Popo Agie Park). The standard restrooms will be cleaned and sanitized prior to the event.  The portable units will be equipped with sanitizer or a handwashing station.  Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes will be available at every location. 

Food trucks and vendors will follow the recommendations of the health department for operation. The vendors will be located in areas to encourage social distancing and will have markings to assist in social distancing.

Awards will not be presented at a central location. The awards will be presented to the coaches at the final games and the coaches will disburse the awards to the players.

Signs will be located throughout the complex indicating social distancing, hand washing and CDC guidelines.

The use of masks will be encouraged and noted in the tournament correspondence.

The referee tent will be limited to the referees and the small tournament staff. PPE will be available to the referees and staff during the event. The referees will follow the recommended guidelines from the Wyoming Soccer Association return to play guidelines

Online check-in prior to the event will be utilized and the team roster will be submitted prior to the event. The rosters will be verified that the listed participants are properly registered.  All coaches/team personnel who are listed on the roster will need to complete the daily Fremont Toyota Shootout COVID-19 screening questionnaire each day for their team.

 

 Coaches and Team Managers and Players

Welcome to the Fremont Toyota Shootout.  We will be taking the recommended precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, by implementing the following best practices to promote personal safety during the event. Please assist us in the endeavor of preventing the spread of the virus. Follow the recommended precautions and make the event an enjoyable weekend of soccer for our young players!

 

Coaches:

  • All coaches/team personnel who are listed on the roster will need to complete the Fremont Toyota Shootout COVID-19 google form questionnaire each day for your team.
  • Require parents to confirm their child is symptom free before attending this event. If a player has a fever of 100.4 or more, experiencing symptoms, or has been exposed to the virus they must not attend this event. 
  • Please do not allow players to share equipment, food or drink.
  • Have sanitizing options available.
  • Limit direct contact-No group celebration, high five’s, handshakes etc.
  • As recommended by the Wyoming Department of Health guidelines, cloth face coverings should be worn by coaches, staff officials, parents, and spectators whenever 6 feet of separation cannot be maintained.
  • Follow all state and local health protocols including the WSA Return to Play Guidelines and the Wyoming Department of Health guidelines.

Tournament Play:  

  • Warm up time is limited to allow the previous team to gather their belongings and leave the playing area in a timely efficient manner.
  • When entering the field please wait for the exiting teams to completely clear the technical area prior to placing any items there. Please space players so that they do not have to touch or move other players items to access their own.
  • Please clear the field promptly when the match ends-no handshakes, high fives etc.
  • Each team will need to provide a sanitized ball to the referee.
  • No hydration stations will be provided-so please plan accordingly.
  • Only rostered players and team personnel will be allowed in the team technical area.
  • Anyone who becomes ill or is not feeling well during the event should immediately leave the venue and report all occurrences to the tournament director.

 

Parents and Spectators

  • Spectators are allowed during the event but need to be limited to parents and immediate family members.
  • Please conduct a symptom check of yourself and your player before arriving at the field.

Fever (100.4 Fahrenheit or higher) or feeling feverish?

A new or worsening cough not caused by another health condition?

New or worsening shortness of breath or difficulty breathing not caused by another health condition?

New or worsening fatigue not caused by another health condition?

New or worsening muscle or body aches not caused by another health condition?

New or worsening headache that is not normal for you and not caused by another health condition?

New loss of sense of taste or smell?

Sore throat?

Congestion or runny nose?

Nausea or vomiting?

Diarrhea?

In the last two weeks, have you had close contact (within 6 feet for at least 10 minutes) with someone diagnosed with COVID-19?

  • Spectators must observe social distancing of 6ft between households.
  • Spectators please do not enter the technical box (team box area). Spectators should be located across the field from your team.
  • As recommended by the Wyoming Department of Health guidelines, cloth face coverings should be worn by coaches, staff officials, parents, and spectators whenever 6 feet of separation cannot be maintained.
  • No hydration stations will be provided-so please plan accordingly.
  • Anyone who becomes ill or is not feeling well during the event should immediately leave the venue and report all occurrences to the tournament director.
  • If you are a person of high risk, Please Do Not Attend.
  • Follow all state and local health protocols including the Wyoming Department of Health guidelines.
